Mr Larson,
I was privileged to find about your event last evening from the National Day of Prayer website, caught you on Channel 9 yesterday afternoon, but unfortunately was unable to make the event at Tabitha Baptist Church last evening. I was able to catch part of it online.
I hate to even say it, because I can only imagine how I would feel if I'd set up such an event myself. I am saddened that the place wasn't packed to overflowing a half-hour early. In my view, there is little that is more important to the Body of Christ than for us to get together just as you have arranged, and on a semiannual or quarterly basis. We are so often sequestered in our own little church walls, not even interacting amongst our denominations, much less interdenominationally, to gather and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I have of late become politically active, and find it quite distressing that when I attend an event it is 99.9% white folk. Really? Hispanics, Asians and Blacks don't care at all about these same issues? I don't believe it. I believe we are too segregated for other reasons.
I love how you described 11 o'clock Sunday morning-God looks down and sees red and yellow, black and white worshipping him in multitudes of languages 'round the world. Too bad we don't envision that down here.
My point is, I would love to do whatever I can to help you in the future. Let me know how I can do that.
